How ranking works

Ranks come from Tranco, a research list of the top million websites built from Chrome usage data, Cloudflare Radar, Cisco Umbrella, and other traffic sources. #1 is the most visited site in the world. Zivvi refreshes every app's rank daily.

Most popular is today's rank. Trending compares today's rank with the rank about 30 days ago — going from #2,000 to #1,000 is +100%. Only apps inside the top 250,000 count as trending, so a tiny site jumping a few hundred thousand spots doesn't outrank a real breakout.

Ranks are per domain, so apps that live on a bigger company's domain — like Gemini on google.com — can't be ranked on their own yet. Domains that mostly get traffic from scripts embedded on other sites (analytics and error-tracking tools) are left out so the list reflects people, not code.
